The Na I D resonance lines in main sequence late - type stars
We study the sodium D lines (D1: 5895.92 Å; D2: 5889.95 Å) in late-type dwarf stars. The stars have spectral types between F6 and M5.5 (B−V between 0.457 and 1.807) and metallicity between [Fe/H] = −0.82 and 0.6. We obtained medium resolution echelle spectra using the 2.15-m telescope at the argentinian observatory CASLEO. The observations have been performed periodically since 1999. The spectr...
متن کاملISO Observations of Pre - Main Sequence and Vega - type Stars
I present an overview of the results obtained by the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) on circumstellar material in pre-main sequence (PMS) stars. Results obtained for embedded YSOs, Herbig Ae/Be systems and T Tauri stars are reviewed and their connection to the disks around Vega-type systems is discussed. Although the gas contents of the PMS environment will also be discussed briefly, this revi...
متن کاملUvbyh Photometry of Main Sequence a Type Stars ?
We present Strr omgren uvby and H photometry for a set of 575 northern main sequence A type stars, most of them belonging to the Hipparcos Input Catalogue, with V from 5 m to 10 m and with known radial velocities. These observations enlarge the catalogue we began to compile some years ago to more than 1500 stars. Our catalogue includes kinematic and astrophysical data for each star. Our future ...
متن کاملThe Pre–Main-Sequence of A-type stars
Young A-type stars in the pre–main-sequence (PMS) evolutionary phase are particularly interesting objects since they cover the mass range (∼1.5-4 M⊙) which is most sensitive to the internal conditions inherited during the protostellar phase. In particular, they undergo a process of thermal relaxation from which they emerge as fully radiative objects contracting towards the main sequence. A-type...
متن کاملCoronal Structure of Pre-Main Sequence Stars
The study of pre-main sequence stellar coronae is undertaken in many different wavelength regimes, with apparently conflicting results. X-ray studies of T Tauri stars suggest the presence of loops with a range of sizes ranging from less than a stellar radius to 10 stellar radii. Some of these stars show a clear rotational modulation in X-rays, but many do not and indeed the nature of this emiss...
